Netflix’s fan-favourite character, Ruth Langmore from Ozark, has been behind some jaw-dropping quotes in the past four seasons; here are three memorable quotes.

Overview

Netflix’s hit show, Ozark, is set to end as fans await the much-anticipated part two of season four, which will mark the series finale for the thrilling-suspense crime drama. For four years, fans have watched as the Byrde family seek their freedom, as they try to get out from under the Navarro cartel’s thumb.

Ozark has given fans many fan-favourite characters outside of the main family. One in particular is Ruth Langmore, who is played by Julia Garner. They have fallen in love with her abrasive quotable one liners and phrases that have even become memes.

What Is The Premise Of Ozark?

Created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams, Ozark premiered on Netflix in 2017. The thrilling-suspense crime drama series surprised many, as it is, according to IMDB, premised on, “A financial advisor drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder money to appease a drug boss.”

The two lead characters, Marty and Wendy Byrde, are played by Jason Bateman and Laura Linney respectively. The series has captured fans for three seasons, and it is currently in its fourth and final season.

Since Part one, which was a seven-episode release, came out earlier in January, part two is expected to be made available on Netflix in the second half of the year. However, Netflix is yet to confirm the official release date.

Who Is Ozark’s Ruth Langmore?

Ruth Langmore is one of the main supporting leading characters on Ozark. When we first met Ruth, she was a 19-year-old, smart, abrasive and calculated ambitious teenager, looking to find a way to rid herself of her poverty-stricken conditions.

In the first few seasons, Ruth is seen living in a trailer on the outskirts of the Ozarks. As the series progresses, it is clear that she has a love-hate relationship with main lead character Marty.

Due to her compelling performance as Ruth, Julia Garner went on to win a Primetime Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in 2019.

In the four years of the series, Ruth has become a fan-favourite character due to her abrasive nature, which has led to some of the most memorable one-liners and quotes from the show.

Quotes From Ruth On Ozark

She arguably has the most quotable lies from the entire cast. In anticipation of the series finale, here are three of the most circulated and comical quotes from Ruth Langmore on Ozark.

1. “You owe me a job”

In one of the scenes which establishes the relationship between Ruth Langmore and Marty, Ruth showcases her direct approach to confronting matters.

After losing her job and believing that Marty is responsible for her job loss, Ruth decides to confront him and demands a job.

While the quote above is what she is most quoted for, following the line, she follows the statement with another quick-quip line by asking Marty if she is speaking Greek, as he initially pretended not to understand her sentiments.

The scene is as intense as it is comical for viewers tuning in.

2. “Quit parking in the crippled spot. What you got ain’t a disability. Just poor f*cking judgment”

One of the first quotes from earlier seasons which affirmed Ruth’s witty and sharp-tongued approach to confronting matters, was when she confronted Frank Cosgrove Jr.

He is the son of the Kansas City mob boss, who parked his Dodge Challenger in the parking space allocated for people with disabilities.

Ruth confronts Frank head-on, delivering the line aimed at hurting him where it hurts most – his lack of intelligence. Moreover, it is just one of the many quotes that have profanity, which Ruth seems to struggle with.

Conclusion

Ozark fans are both waiting in anticipation and disappointed that the thrilling crime drama series is nearing its end.

However, as some patiently wait to find out if the Byrde family will finally be able to get away from the Navarro cartel and return to their previous lives, others are finding comical ways to pass the time.

While the imminent end of the series is a bittersweet moment for viewers, the silver lining is that fans still have part two of season four to possibly get more one liners and quotes from fan-favourite character, Ruth Langmore.
