The Queen has begun with the storyline which will see the departure of original cast member, Loyiso MacDonald, who plays Kagiso Khoza.
Mzansi Magic’s The Queen took to Twitter on Tuesday, 25 May 2021, to begin with the storyline which will see the departure of beloved character, Kagiso Khoza, played by Loyiso MacDonald. The suggestions of MacDonald’s departure from the telenovela circulated earlier in the month, however, the storyline on his exit was only introduced this past week.
This was when Goodness Mabuza, played by Zenande Mfenyane, suggested that Kagiso distance himself from his family now that he is a family man. Kagiso eventually conceded and agreed to them and their daughter, Mvelo, moving to another province to start afresh.
His mother, Harriet Khoza, played by Connie Ferguson, is still in the process of coming to terms with Kagiso’s big move. The storyline also references the passing of Harriet’s daughter, Keabetswe Khoza, played by Dineo Langa. Langa’s abrupt departure from the telenovela was allegedly due to disagreements between herself and the production, which does not seem to be the case with MacDonald.
