Say Anything

Say Anything is a rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2000 by Max Bemis and friends. Within two years, they self-released two EPs and a full-length album. In 2003, they signed with Doghouse Records and released their second album, “…Is a Real Boy,” in 2004. Despite gaining critical acclaim, health issues, including Max Bemis’ bipolar disorder and drug addictions, led to several members leaving in 2005.

After Bemis’ successful rehabilitation, Say Anything signed with J Records in 2005 and re-released “…Is a Real Boy.” They toured with Saves the Day in 2006 and Hellogoodbye in 2007, followed by a headlining tour in 2008 across the US and UK, including the Warped Tour. In 2018, Bemis announced the band’s disbandment, but they reunited in 2022.

Over their career, the band faced challenges, including lineup changes and Bemis’ health struggles. Despite these, they garnered a dedicated fan base and toured extensively. Their musical style spans emopop-punk, indie rock, and alternative rock. Say Anything’s discography includes eight albums, with “Oliver Appropriate” released in 2019. The band’s resilience and Bemis’ creative vision contribute to their enduring presence in the alternative music scene.
