SASSA announces December social grant payment dates

SASSA took to Twitter to share the December social grant payment dates, with older persons set to receive their grant payouts first at the beginning of the month.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) took to Twitter on Friday, 27 November 2020, to clarify the payout dates for grant recipients. The infographic is updated monthly to clarify when specific grants are scheduled to be paid out in the upcoming month. While the dates of the payments might differ from month to month, the order of the payments remains relatively similar.

The first recipients for the coming month are older persons, who are scheduled to receive their grants on Tuesday, 1 December 2020. On Wednesday, 2 December 2020, persons with disabilities’ grants will be available. Thereafter, all other grant recipients will receive their payouts on Wednesday, 3 December 2020.

It is advised that grant recipients not rush to withdraw their payments on the first day of its availability. The infographic reiterated, “Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.”
