Kitchen Nightmares: Juicy Box

Published

The October 23, 2023, episode of Kitchen Nightmares will see Gordon Ramsay jump in to save The Juicy Box, a family-run business located in Brooklyn.

The much-anticipated rebooted eighth season of Gordon Ramsay’s ever-popular show, Kitchen Nightmares, has only just started airing, and yet it has already delivered almost everything that fans expected.

The very first episode of the season saw Ramsay visit Bel Aire in Astoria and certainly delivered on all of the heartwarming, “small family business” moments that fans have missed so much during the series’s hiatus.

The second episode, which featured Bask 46 and its “culinary gangster” chef, on the other hand, had plenty of juicy drama to watch.

The third, “In The Drink” episode, had a pair of owners that barely knew what was going on in their own business and last week’s episode featured a family on the brink of financial ruin at Da Mimmo, to round it all out

This week’s Kitchen Nightmares episode

This week, Kitchen Nightmares fans will get to watch  Ramsay travels to Brooklyn in New York, to visit The Juicy Box Bar and Lounge.

Jacques purchased The Juicy Box back in 2018, but over the following five years, chaos had descended onto this family-run Haitian restaurant and juice bar. And this owner found himself struggling to make ends meet.

Although Ramsay is usually pretty good at turning various struggling businesses around, only time will tell whether his efforts at The Juicy Box will help this family see eye-to-eye.

And whether his condensed menu and higher standards, will be enough to get the business back on the right track.

The Juicy Box’s Kitchen Nightmares timeline

The main reason why season eight of Kitchen Nightmares has been so enjoyable to follow along with so far is because most of these episodes were shot just a few months ago.

This means that give or take a few months, fans actually get to see Ramsay’s incredible transformations play out pretty much in real-time.

In The Juicy Box’s case, everything that you see play out in the episode, would likely happened earlier this year, as follows:

Is The Juicy Box still open?

There have only been a handful of restaurants over the course of Kitchen Nightmares’ eight-year run, which have closed before their episodes even made it to air, and The Juicy Box has not made the list.

In fact, The Juicy Box is not only still operational and in business to this day, but the business actually seems to be thriving.

A quick peek at The Juicy Box’s Instagram page reveals that the restaurant has been hosting regular events since Ramsay’s visit and the most recent reviews imply that things have certainly improved in the last few months.

Four out of the last five Yelp reviews for The Juicy Box (which were all posted after Ramsay’s visit) give the place a 5 out of 5-star rating. This is a considerable improvement from The Juicy Box’s 3.7 out of 5-star overall average rating.

How does Jacques feel about being on the show?

Since The Juicy Box episode has not aired, Jacques and the rest of The Juicy Box’s staff have had to keep details about the episode to a minimum.

But Jacques does seem to be quite impressed with Ramsay’s handiwork, as he even promoted this episode on The Smoke Box’s, (his other business’s) Instagram page.

And when one commenter mentioned that The Juicy Box has been the “talk of the town” since Ramsay’s visit, Jacques responded “Watch when this episode airs bro.”

The Juicy Box is also hosting a special Kitchen Nightmares-themed viewing party to celebrate the episode’s premiere, so everyone at the restaurant is seemingly quite excited for the episode to air.

What to expect for the remainder of Kitchen Nightmares season eight

Even though there has been so much excitement around the return of Kitchen Nightmares, Ramsay and the show’s executive producer, David De Angelis, have kept most of the details for this season tightly under wraps.

De Angelis did reveal that all of the restaurants featured in this season would be in the New York City and New Jersey areas, but a few unconfirmed internet spoilers are all that we really have to go off, for the season’s remaining episodes.

If these spoilers are correct, fans can expect six more episodes after “Juicy Box” – starting with El Cantito, which should be the focus of October 30th’s episode.
